Tracey Emin

Tracy-Emin-1.jpg

Tracey Emin is an artist who uses her contemporary practice to embody her everyday lifestyle and uses the term ‘self-portrait’ in a physical and metaphorical term. She draws upon her own expiriences, revealing her hopes, humiliations, failures and successes in a variety of different mediums ranging from painting, drawing, video and installation. I believe that Emin’s work correlates with my own contemporary practice in the way that she divulges personal issues within her work. Although my work encompasses the ideals of natural equality and environmental degradation, my own personal crave for comfort and intimacy is projected in my work, just as Emin’s does hers.
