Richard Long is most known for his works which are based on the walks or journeys that he has made. As well as land based natural sculpture, he uses the mediums of photography, text and maps of the landscape he has walked over to inspire his work. The art pieces he creates are a response to the environments he walked in, the landscape would be deliberately changed in some way and sometimes sculptures were made in the landscape from rocks or similar found materials and then photographed. I feel like I can relate to the work of Long through the video and photography documentation I make of my everyday journeys. His work has made me think of the relevance of site-specific work and perhaps maybe if I should toy with the idea of presenting work in alternative environments like I began doing at the beginning of ASU1.
